Love's rhythm

Ruth Winick

Lovers Card

A ravished delicate heart heaped in deep violet
Needing that glorious obsequious reaching encounter
Body having been devoured of marrow and freedom
An inseparable obedience and limitless devotion to the senses
A transcendental journey sacred and vigorous, consecrated and bled
A will on consciousness that seeks the heat of the sun
Extrapolating the rhythm of beauty and the impulse of nature
Finally, discovering the sound of applause, like rain on wet leaves.
